Angled array shows above view cut plane

Hallo every one.

Im making a stair from scratch with washing edges (see pic)

the washing edges are arrayed sweeps that follow the steps.

the geomotri is cut in project workspace, but not the sweep array (see pic)

i tried to mask, but that has to be drawn in the foreground and will maske the next flight of stairs.

i tried a void but then the geometri look rediculas in 3D, and both the plan view and 3D have to be on the same sheet, so thats a no go.

i am really at a halt here, could really use some help! 🙂

Have you considered just hiding them altogether in Plan View? Also, I what category did you use for the sweep? Try a different one.

Share the family for better understanding the cause.

A couple of suggestions here:

1. Re-categorize all the nested, shared sweep component families ("Vaskekant...") as "Railing: Supports", and reload into Project.

2. Build the sweep component "Vaskekant" family into a Component Stair Type as a Baluster Family in a Rail Type. Define "Use Baluster per Tread on Stairs" with "Balusters Per Tread" =1.

Create your Stair as a regular stair

Create the Sweep as a Railing. Use a Railing profile that is the shape of the Sweep cross-section with a height of the profile.

Oops - the Railing option will not work - each piece will need to be put in as a Baluster. Create a stair in your project, create a Baluster family with the height = 0 of the Sweep, and load into your project.

Reading the OP correctly the first time would be helpful.....Smiley Wink

I think you need to redefine your nested families (Vaskekant).

If they need to be Generic Model, then they can't be shared.

If they need to be shared, they can't be Generic Model, use category Structural Framing, Specialty Equipment or Doors instead.
