Hi,

I want to create a property that gives me the width of the wall in which the door is mounted. Of course I can make a simple text property but I want to get this value automatic.
Is this possible in Revit?

Is this something that you would like to see reflected in the Door Schedule? This may be possible with Dynamo....

what do you mean by exporting that property in IFC?

I think you mean you want a parameter that reports the wall "thickness".  If so. this is possible through a Reporting Parameter in the door family. Simple pull a dimension between the exterior and interior faces of the "host wall" in the family, and label it with a Reporting Parameter.  When placed in the project, the door properties will report the thickness of the wall it's hosted to.

@barthbradley I just learned something new. Then how will we be able to see the wall thickness in the door schedule?

PS - ignore me - here is the answer to my question -

Use a shared parameter for that reporting parameter in the door family.
