I made a library model, there are various family files in my project, some from revitcity, There problem is that previously it was rendering fine in cloud, but now it gives my erro message (An error ocured and your rendering could not be completed. I am using revit 2016 version. When I am rendering it gives warning that some images are missing. Is it because of this or anyother reason?

This kind of issue can be from something as simple that the render service is (termporarily) not available to some issues in your project.

You will need to do some troubleshooting

-Start a new project, create something simple and try to render in cloud.

-What happens if you render it locally?

-What happens if you try it from a different computer?

If it appears to be something in your project, try to remove objects and see if it will render then.

If Revit complains about missing images it is often that materials assigned to objects have images incorporated (e.g. bnump maps).

This should not hold the rendering, only some materials might turn out differently when renderin because of the missing images.

I have tried rendering in cloud for a new project, it works fine. But my existing project that I am working on is not rendering. what should I do? Now I don't knwo which family file is causing the problem, my project size is very big. How can I rectify the problem? and by the way should I send my model to you ?

I am attaching warning sign before it gets uploaded to cloud rendering service.

first screen shot shows that I am using the default settings to upload for rendering, the second one is just after I go ahead will give the missing image warning. And also revit doesn't show which family these images belong? and plus you may have hundreds of families how can we know ?

And I also tried to delete the software and reinstall but the issue is still there.

Unfortunately this is not easily solved and will require manual labour to find the culprit(s) in your project.

At the moment I would not worry too much about the materials as they do not prevent the rendering itself.

My first suspects would be the more complex families. Especially if they contain foreign files (e.g 3D autocad files).

Also objects like the tunnel could be something that causes problems

You can upload your project and I can have a look. Probably it is large so use something like wetransfer or dropbox and post the link.

Thank you for the answer, Can you please provide me your email, so that the link of wetransfer comes to you only since at this point I don't want anyone else have access to model as I am in Autodesk design competition. Or you can simply drop me an email to this : (bismillah.arif99@gamil.com) in case you do not want to share your email publicly.

I did some tests today. When rendering {3D} view I also received error.

After several tests I can find that when switching off the "Generic Models" category in the visbility graphics overides that render completes.

Unfortunately I do not have time to continue testing (today).

So I would advice to continue testing based on these results.

First suspects should be the families in the Generic Models Category.

You can check if it is one or more families in this category that breaks the rendering process.

Otherwise it will be one of the families that have nested generic model families.

Thank you for taking your precious time, the problem is solved. The culprite was actually decale images that I used in the project. When I deleted the decale images it worked fine and now it renders online. Actually this solution was done by Professon Glenn katz who is a lecturer at Standford University.

Thanks
