Align Existing Model with Set Coordinatees=

Hi, I have a bridge that has been modeled in Revit, however, I am trying to get it to match certain coordinates. I have tried specifying a point but it seems that it needs 2 points to be specified in order for the rest of the elements to be set to the correct coordinates. Any idea on how to go about this?

What do you by "match certain coordinates". Are you talking Survey Coordinates or Project Coordinates?

...I'm thinking you are trying to establish a Survey Coordinate system within the Bridge Project. Am I right? If so, how are you being provided the Survey Coordinates?  Typical workflow is to Link a Survey into the Project, position and orient the Link relative to Project Model (e.g. the Bridge), and then Acquire Coordinates of the Link.

HI, thanks for your reply. Yes, I am trying to establish the survey coordinates within the bridge. I currently don't have the survey with the new coordinates I need but I have a point cloud (rcp file) with the new coordinates I am trying to establish. Do you reckon this will be possible with the rcp file?

That isn't going to help.

- Link the point cloud to a blank Revit file, Origin to Internal Origin, save it

- Open your working model > Manage Coordinates > Reset Shared Coordinates

- Link the other Revit file to your model, Center to Center, move / rotate it to align the point cloud with your model

- Acquire coordinates

How is that going to help? Sincere question. I thought that through as well, but thought it pointless.

...actually, what I thought was insert the PC via Shared Coordinates into a blank Project, Pin the PC and Survey Point, Save and Link into Bridge Project, Move it to the correct location that it is supposed to be at RELATIVE to the Bridge and then Acquire Coordinates.  The issue would be precisely identifying a single point (x,y,z) in the PC Link with a point in the Bridge Project and matching them up.
