Adjusting a roller shade family

Hi

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to adjust this roller shade family.  When placed it attaches incorrectly to the ceiling.  The same issue is present with ceilings or the underside of a floor.

What part would I edit so that it attaches within the ceiling instead of on the surface of it?

Seems to host to Ceiling or Floor just fine.  Top and bottom face.

Are you selecting "Place on Face" or "Place on Workplane"?

You could even place it on a Named Ref. Plane. That's a Work Plane.

I would host it under a soffit above the ceiling, like how it should be done in field.

Or place it on a ref plane above the ceiling if you don't feel like modeling the soffit.

Flip Work Plane doesn't work on a compound ceiling or floor with this family.

Thanks for the replies!  I'm not really looking to flip the component, it needs to be set high up into the ceiling, like this:

Is there an edit I can do to the family itself? Or do I need to create little soffits as suggested, or perhaps look into other solutions like making a whole new family?

You could edit the family, but making the soffits would probably be easier if this is a one time thing.

I ended up making a nested face based family with it's own ceiling soffit of sorts.  The "upside down" thing still throws me off, but it works.
