I'm creating a set of as-builds but my ridge line does not match the existing. How do I modify it to match?
Thx for help and suggestions.Roof real.jpg3d roof 1.jpgRoof plan.jpg

 Offset from Roof Base.

...for the Roof sketch line on the low side.

Take a look at the pic. It should be self-explanatory.

Is your question about why your model's ridge doesn't match the one in the picture???

You you have any idea what the existing slopes are?  What the existing plate heights are?

The pitch is 2:12...now I forgot to mention that we think the house had
been remodeled and therefore the ridge beam is not centered on the
floorplan as it used to be

Well, the slope is only the half of it. What are the plate heights? They can't all be the same. If you don't have this information then just create the roof as per @PijPiwo's screenshot example and then raise or lower the roof as a unit when you find out that information.

I'll have to check the plate height when I'm on site next week...As far as I know they are at 8' all around.

I think the house got modified - the ridge runs almost center line to the kitchen....If u like I can post some pictures I took, probably would make more sense. THx for the help,

Cheers.

My guess is you guys don't understand the question and can't read the pictures right...nobody is getting punked here.

Does anyone here besides me have construction experience, then you'll probably understand better.

The main gist of your question was answered in the first two posts.  I pointed out Offset from Roof Base and @PijPiwo provided a screenshot showing how to Define Slopes (or, more accurately, how NOT to Define Slopes).  Both of these methods will affect where the Ridge occurs.  There really isn't much more to it than that.

...tweak the Offset From Roof Base value to move the Ridge Location.
