Adding soffits to simple square twin gable roof. Guidelines failed.

Hi, I've just started with Revit LT and I'm trying to form a simple square building as a training exercise. All's well until I try and add the soffit. If I highlight the roof, it highlights the whole roof, so the soffit stays at the same level all round, ignoring the gable ends. If I try and do it with unassociated lengths using the slope arrow, I cannot input relevant angle into the properties, it just won't let me. I've managed to solve everything else I've come across but this one's got me beat.

Try using the fascia - this should work better.  You can create the relevant profile if required.

I'm not really a big fan of the soffit tool.. facia is nice though.  I've learned that when you're building a model, most of your efforts boil down to what is going to be seen on paper.  Even in your 3D model, you can almost never see the soffit.....so...i almost never draw the soffit, except in a section view.

Usually I just make the roof thick enough and paint the underneath. 

I remember that I need to use Pick Roof and Pick Wall to create the boundary of the soffit. Not sure about the slope, will try it tomorrow.

Are you wanting 2 different slopes in the same soffit. No can do.  Soffit can only have one slope. Use a Fascia instead.

Thanks, I'm glad it's not just me. Fascia was easy, so I'll run with that.

I tried breaking it into smaller bits but the problems just escalated. I'm going to stick with the fascia plan suggested above.
