Add pattern preview image to drop down list

I created a family using generic model pattern based to be used with divided surfaces.  When I loaded that into another family, it shows up on the drop down list and it works as expected.

Is there a way I could add preview image to show on this drop down list.  I'll have a few custom patterns loaded into this family and it'd be better to have a preview image to each one rather than differentiating by names.

Did you try a Save-As and under Options choose a 3D View?

I tried that but it doesn't seem to do the trick.

Just tested in 2020. This is what I get:

Does visual style on 3D view matter?  I'm using 2021 but still haven't got that to show up.

Also, would it be possible to show a custom image instead of 3D view?
