Accurate Area Calculation from Internal Wall Centerlines to External Wall Inside Faces in Revit

On some projects, I need to calculate areas from the centerlines of internal walls to the inside face of external walls. Is there a way to configure Revit's room settings to measure this accurately? I’ve managed to do this by moving the wall buildup outside of the core boundaries and adding a 1mm layer within the core boundaries for external walls, the hack works but this approach isn't very accurate. Is there a better method?

Set Room Area Computation to Wall centerlines and draw Room separation lines on the interior faces of exterior walls.  Set exterior walls to not room bounding so that you don't get the warning message.
