3D software that is compatible with Revit?

I have Revit LT am in need of placing 3D files into the program.

I am currently making 3D drawings, then turning them into a dwg file in AutoCAD LT but it is not correctly transferring my 3D files into Revit.

Will I need to upgrade to AutoCAD in order to get a 3D file placed into Revit?

with Autocad LT you can't create 3d models so don't know what your trying to accomplish

Welcome to the Autodesk Community! I see that you are visiting as a new member

Did you try linking the CAD file in Revit? which version of AutoCAD and Revit are you using?

If you are using Revit 2017 or earlier and trying to link an AutoCAD 2018 .dwg, you receive errors and it does not link.

What program would you recommend to create for 3D files going into Revit?

Why not just create whatever 3d geometry you need in Revit?

Yes of course there is a lot I need to learn. I wanted a quick answer before I dive too deep to see if it is even possible to link a 3D file, or ACIS object into Revit LT or if I need to upgrade to Revit.

@Anonymous Then, why don't you continue in AutoCAD? Or is there any requirement for your current project to be in Revit?

If the design is in Autocad, keep everything in Autocad. If the design is calling for it to be in Revit, then it has to be done in Revit, not imported from Autocad into Revit. The ability to bring in Autocad drawings are more for reference value only.

If your company is more familiar with Autocad, then I would suggest going to Autocad Architecture before going to Revit.
