I see there's a lot of ways to print a 3D model out of revit, what would be the best way? Which files does a 3D-printer support or does that depend on the kind of printer we use?

Typically a 3d printer will use an STL file. But it is not going to be model in Revit, export to STL, print in 3d, Enjoy!  There is going to need to be some thought put into how the model get broken up in order for it to be able to be printed. It will probably need to be broken up in ways you wouldn't normally do in the process of modeling in Revit.

Here is one article on how it might be done.
