3D Dimensioning in Revit 2017

Hi,

I'm having an issue creating height dimensions in 3D model space, I read a couple of posts and watched videos that said to pick the plane and work from there, however this doesn't seem to be working, I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they have resolved it.

Thanks

Well, I did lock it but I tried doing the opposite so instead of selecting the height surfaces, I selected the sides of the object which allowed me to dimension the height. Hard to explain, but basically I did the opposite of what I was doing and it worked out.

Thanks, though!
