2018.3 - cannot upgrade families

Getting an error when trying to load a detal family: (just checked ANY family)

The file xxx.rfa was saved in a later version of Revit and cannot be retrieved in this version.

When trying to open it directly:

Capture4.JPG

Then I get the same error.

Last I checked 2018 > 2009.

Opens fine in 2019. Did 2019 overwrite the Library? Why does it say the file is in 2009?

If I have to wipe this install and rebuild up to 2018.2 I'm not going to be happy...

Hi @Anonymous

Use the Audit function when preparing to upgrade the software, or as needed to locate and correct issues.

See articles on:

Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.

If you still face issues, please send us your journal file

Your journal has to be parsed for a load exception error and usually, the underlying cause is a hard disk space jam.

If the file is corrupt and has to be recovered, we can do so only from a backup file.

Regards,

I figured it out. My paths to the content got messed up somehow.

2018.3 seems to be fully functional now!
