So when you type text in the new text box, the curser moves one way and the text moves another!!!! What's up with that?!! It also greys out the text when you edit it. So much for new improvements.... Any fixes, please let me know.

Working fine here ... But I'm guess; try right side of the keyboard ALT+SHIFT and right side CTRL+SHIFT

text glitches are the least of my worries. I just discovered all our annotation families have been affected. Titleblocks, keynotes, view references, schedules, if it has text in it, chances are something has changed. I will have to set aside time to fix the size of all our tag families. Yeep-pee!
Yes, I wrote about it earlier today about some testing I did on a couple of my projects.
http://revitlink.blogspot.com.au/2016/04/upgrading-to-revit-2017-text-issues.html
What is worse, I have half a dozen sample projects I use for teaching & training, which I will have to painfully work through and fix.
There was always going to be some pain with this but there should be long term gain so I figure it's probably worth it. And lets be honest the text editor has been one of the most complained about features of Revit since pretty much the beginning, at least now ADesk have started to address the issues.
Revit 2017 is ONE WEEK old!! Tiny bugs here or a glitch there is something very normal lol in Autodesk Products...Who doesn't recall the number of updates and patches issued for 2015!! So my guess is; give it 2-3 months and you will start seeing those patches and SPs rolling
Beta testing was out for a while but unfortunately users enrolled in that beta testing aren't able to capture everything...So I would put it this way "There is no better way to test a product than putting it out in the market"
Irony is...Autodesk should PAY US ALL or at least Reward users with something!!!

haha, why pay someone when you can get people to do it for free!
We do intend to roll out 2017 but probably only on new projects initially and probably not for another few months until the initial 'obvious' bugs are ironed out. If you are going to be an early adopter you need patience.
haha pay me?! Oh that would be nice! I would just be happy if Autodesk didn't charge for things that use to be free. Apparently their is a fee now to order the media if you don't/can't download!! what the...?! So now it's set aside 5hrs for installation or pay. I get 4cents a litre off petrol if I spend more than $30 at the local supermarket, but $8000 isn't enough for a USB stick... hahaha gold.
Text update problems aren't too bad, update a few families and push them back into the projects. Notes will be the annoying part, although i will play with minor adjustment to text size to try and compensate. As Kieth mentioned, we will only start new projects in 2017.
Ditto here, I'm having the exact same glitch on our workstations. It's very difficult to work on larger text blocks with this happening. Bugged out text boxes are no bueno!
2014.. really? Hmm, I ordered media last year for 2016 and wasn't charged. Anyway, 2014, 2017, it use to be included.
Hey - Please post if you found any solutions for this! Are you running Windows 10? I've marked this thread as unsolved again as the problem is still occuring on my end.

Hi Everyone--
The New Text team has recently noticed this also. Oddly, it's not an issue with New Text (or text at all)... instead, there is a bizarre glitch that will very occasionally (and seemingly randomly) cause a view to be interpreted by Revit as being mirrored. We can get this to happen most often when opening a view containing a stair while slightly zooming with the mouse wheel. As you've noticed, the next time you close and open the view, everying will very likely be fine.
When this mirroring happens, the most user-visible issue is the text editor--which is pretty much working correctly in the bizarro-world mirrored view. So, we're working on correcting this weirdness very soon!
Thanks for your vigilance!
Trey
What's worse about this whole thing is that I am working on projects and the text editor glitch makes it almost impossible to edit notes. I did not have this issue with Revit 2016 or earlier. If I could, I would save my project down from 2017 to 2016 so that I could still earn a living until the patch comes out; however, Autodesk fears that me making a living may keep me from sending in that subscription check each year, so I am not able to save my work down to 2016. In my business, I check my work to make sure it is correct before it goes out. There are minor mistakes here and there, but the Text Editor in a cad package is a major component. One would figure that Autodesk would test a major component of their product before releasing it. Idiocracy is a documentary.
Note to self: don't upgrade software until at least 6 months after the release date.
Can we get an ETA for a fix on this Trey? The issue is rampant in every project we've started in 2017 on each of our PC's. We really need a solid solution here guys (software update, not a workaround)...thanks.
