Open Existing .Rvt File

I feel silly having to ask, but I can't find a method in the RevitAPI type
library or in any of the Revit code samples that allows you to open an
existing .rvt file by supplying the full path. Can someone point me in the
right direction please?

Thanks

You're not crazy - it's not there...

Pretty much everything in the Revit API is in "Current Document Context"...

This is not the case, you are able to create a new project/document in revit.

Are you ADN member? Has ADSK provided this function in their new version API?

Does anyone know if this is still the case, not having the ability to open an existing rvt file through the API?

Thanks in advance,
Don

Yes, it was added a while ago... Certainly Revit 2008 had it.
Application.OpenDocumentFile( string filename )
