Modify BIM object family file using external application

Hello Guys,

I'd like to control my .rfa or ifc file in my warehouse system, that means, limite Revit to use only families from my warerouse system.

My ideia would be to create a parameter "iditem" in family file without open Revit, update some property field with information when the user put the file in my warehouse system.

Any idea?

There is not very much you can do with a Revit file without opening Revit.

We are in the process of discussing some kind of 'Revit in the cloud' nicknamed Revit I/O as part of the Forge design automation web service:

Look at the articles in there, e.g.:
