Model Checker API in Revit 2026 - no longer supported

This looks like very bad news. The Model Checker API from Interoperability Tools is gone? Just saw this banner on the KB:

Is there anything in the works to replace this functionality, and if so, what is it?

David,

As you have noted we have removed support for the API's going forward starting with Revit 2026.  It is important to note that the API's still exist in the 9.2 release for versions up to and including Revit 2025

To replace the scheduling functionality of the API's please investigate the Autodesk Validation Tool for Docs.

Thank you both for the response and information. I have looked into the ACC Validation Tool and I'm very glad to see the development of tools integrated into the cloud environment. However, the AVT Docs tool moves model processing into the cloud with an added fee. I don't think my firm will be willing to pay this fee for routine model health checks on all of our active project models; we still have a use case for local processing of these checks.

This being the case, I have a couple follow-up questions: Is it possible for us to integrate the 9.2 API into our custom add-in for Revit 2026 and future versions? And if not would it be possible to migrate the API to some type of open source repository for further development by the community?

Thanks.

David,

Here are answers to your questions

  • I would not be possible for the 9.2 API to integrate with 2026.
  • The API is not a separable part of the product, so having it developed in the open-source community would be a challenge.

Thank you for the follow up

Chuck
