Duplicate type turns into Abort

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered the same strange behavior in Revit 2018 or higher.

We have a huge Revit addin with many tools in it. With the release of Revit 2018 something strange is occuring and we can't figure out what causes it. At some point after using our addin, when clicking the "Edit type" button of a family, the button "Dupcliate" turns into "Abort". Strangly enough when you press the "Abort" button it behaives like it was the "Duplicate" button.

Since it occures so randomly, we just can't find what causes the "Duplicate" button to turn into "Abort". 

Any thoughts?

And before you ask; No Jeremy, I can't send reproducable code 🙂 :), since I haven't got a clue what is causing this or when it appeares.

you mean revit buttons? or buttons from some one app?

if it is from app:
does icons, when they work right, change when you click it ?

maybe some one made event to change icons when buttons is pushed, but he didn't check name of buttons, just use index in buttons list. I'm just guessing, there is not much to work here.

Will this still happen if uninstall all addins? You may try to unstall the questionable addin and try to see if this is reproducible?

my superficial guess: one possible reason may be some addin is monitoring the element type property palette dialog and the addin will force to change the button tile? 

or try to re-install the Revit to refresh all resources may be another but last solution? 🙂
