Constraints error in 2016 while create the manually alignment.

Hi,

Manually i tried to create alignment in Revit 2016.

i have a base file in that have two extrusion, one extrusion have dimension of height. i want to align one extrusion with another, 

while creating the Alignment between two reference plans of respective extrusion, its give constrains error in Revit 2016, but i do same step in 2017 it working fine . please help me out for this problem. it there any different way  to create alignment in Revit 2016. and please let me know the difference between 2016 and 2017 alignment process.

If you are having an issue doing this manually through the user interface, as you say, then this is the wrong place to ask.

If you are not doing it programmatically, please note that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API.

Therefore, you cannot expect an answer to a question such as yours relating to installation, product usage or end user support issues here.

You should try one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead for that:

The people there are much better equipped to answer your question than us programming nerds.

If you are doing it programmatically, please be aware that the Revit API hardly ever supports any functionality that is not also available in the user interface.

Therefore, if the UI does not support this, the API will probably not do so either.
