A bit Tricky query

Hi,

I think this will be a tricky one. Before or after  placing a family instance[point based] how can I know the angle in which it was created. For example in the image below after opening the family in family editor[in plan view] the angle of the family is 90 degree. Now how do I know this angle via api.

Hi,

how do you mean?
Im guessing you are using this overload to create it:
NewFamilyInstance(XYZ, FamilySymbol, StructuralType)
In that case it would be rotated just like it would if you placed it using the UI.

Are you rotating your views?

It;s not about creation/placement of the familyinstance. it's about the family of the instance. When we create family we specify how the family gets placed vertical or horizontal. All I want to know is the default angle of the family in which it was created.
