How to Merge Top/Bottom Half of Objects?

Hi, I'm currently trying to photograph an object from the top half and then flip it over so I can photograph the bottom half and somehow combine the two sets of images into one mesh.

Is this possible in Remake? Is there a good workflow for accomplishing this? At the moment when I use the top set of images and the flipped over set of images the mesh comes out quite distorted.

Thank you!

Hi Jeff,

To shoot the top half and bottom half separately, and reconstruct them together as one object, you need to make sure that there are no features detected on the base (underneath the object) or background that change between your 2 sets of images. This video shows 2 examples of shooting top and bottom then reconstructing in one step:

Check out the "turntable" example, and the "moving object" examples.

I actually had the same issue with the link - there is a space at the end of the link. If you manually copy and paste the link and remove the end space it will work 🙂

Nice video, thanks!  I'm wondering how you avoided getting the clamp in the image with the turn table. Did you clamp the bottom and shoot tight shots of the top and then clamp the top and shoot the bottom?
