Continued crashing Toshiba laptop

Hi All, I’ve been struggling months to get Memento and then ReMake to work on my Toshiba Satellite S55T-C i7 laptop, 16GB; NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 4GB that, fulfilling requirements, I bought for the purpose of 3D modelling with Autodesk ReMake and ReCap.

Despite efforts from the Autodesk and NIVDIA support teams ReMake then ReCap keeps crashing my Toshiba laptop. Does anyone else have this problem? I spoke with a BestBuy sales rep who said they stopped selling and servicing Toshiba’s over a year ago, because of failures and lack of support.

With this (unverified) info I’m debating purchasing a new machine, preferably a laptop but will go to desktop if indeed laptops lack the power…but I suspect this not the case. Can anyone recommend a “reasonable” laptop or desktop that definitely works with the Autodesk and other 3D modelling s/w.
Thanks!

Hi James

What is the model of graphics card do you have in your machine?
If you can't find the info.

Type [Windows + R] and type in dxdiag.exe

Click "Save All Information" and send it to us for assistance.

Regards
Michael

Hi James

Your graphics hardware specifications looks adequate enough to run ReMake.
Could you to explain the steps that might have caused the crash on your toshiba laptop?
Does it crash upon start of the application, or during a specific process on ReMake application?
Do you have NVIDIA optimus setting on?

Michael,

With all due respect, I've answered these very same questions several times. A number of ReMake team including Tatjana, Elmer as well as some engineers in Singapore together with NVIDIA have tried to assist me with this same issue with never any fix. No one has ever answered my question if other Toshiba users have this problem. ReCap also crashes now.

I've tried so hard to work with all Autodesk s/w responding to all questionnaire's and survey's; and would really like to experience the power of all Autodesk AEC s/w products...but I can't even get started! I see there is another update, I'll uninstall and re-install - again! Lets see what happens then!! Thanks for your help.

Kindest regards and a very Merry Christmas and Happy Hol's,

James

I'm now using a an HP desk top with no dedicated graphics card that I  can detect...but it seems to work and I'm finally having some fun with ReMake...but I did try to publish a light edited model of the Nelson House of Yorktown VA of the National Park Service. My girlfriend's family own the Sheilds House next door and I picked up some imagery while droning that house. Hope I can learn and share great experiences with ReMake!
