Having the ability to toggle between intensity (grey scale and colored) and RGB during the registration stage would be excellent.
There are times when the RGB imagery is overexposed or underexposed due to poor lighting, making it impossible to pick points for registration. The intensity view always works, so it would be great to have this option.
Maybe it's more difficult than it seems as it appears we only get to see the images produced by the scanner (Either colour or greyscale) rather than the actual points.
Maybe if we could use a better version of the "look" tool for registration purposes, then we'd be able to register using intensity, normals, elevation and set our own scales just as we can during normal navigation of the actual points? To speed this up though you may need to only load in a portion of the scanned points (Similar to what happens in Cyclone), then if you need to pick with more definition select a small region over the area you want to select to load in all of the available points for that area.
