ReCap Pro & ReCap Photo student licence?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I am teaching Civil 3D and ReMake.

I was told to switch to ReCap Photo, when I opened ReMake today.

I downloaded ReCap Photo via students.autodesk.com. After installation I only have two options: 30 day trail or subscribe.

Where do I put the Serial Number / Product Key / etc. in order to create models for free?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for participating in our Community! Do you see "ReCap Photo Service Entitlement"  under Autodesk Account ->Management page? Are you able to sign to ReCap Photo desktop application using Autodesk ID and PW? Do you see "Subscribed" after login?

Thank you and I look forward to your reply.

Anil, I'm having the same problem, I'll answer your questions below... but should I start a new thread given that I'm having the same issue as the OP?

In Cloud Service entitlement I see ReCap Photo Service Entitlement as "29 Days Left".

When using the ReCap photo desktop application I can see my Autodesk ID in the top right hand corner.

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you PM your Autodesk ID and screen capture of Autodesk Account page with ReCap Photo entitlement information for further investigation.

Thank you and have a great day!

Hi @Anonymous and @Anonymous,

Did you install ReCap Photo using these steps:

Installing ReCap Photo (requires subscription to ReCap Pro)

To access ReCap Photo, sign in to your Autodesk Account:

  • Go to the Management tab
  • Select the latest ReCap Pro version and click on “Install Now”
  • Our ReCap Pro installer will then allow you to install both ReCap Pro and ReCap Photo desktop apps

Thank you and have a great day!

Anil, thank you for your help so far.

I ran the installer again this morning and it tells me that both products (RC Pro and RC Photo) are installed. ReCap Pro version shown is in the desktop is 4.2.1.7 and the ReCap photo version shows as 18.0.0.56, if this helps.  I am PMing as per your request.

Hello Peter,

ReMake updates will not be available after November 30th and users are encouraged to switch to ReCap Photo.
However, if processing using EDU license, kindly continue to use ReMake for now. ReCap Photo does not offer free processing to EDU users yet.

We are working towards a suitable solution for EDU users.

You can install the latest ReMake, version 17.25.4.3 from your account at manage.autodesk.com account.

Alternatively, if you have ReMake version 17.25.3.1 installed, then you can update to version 17.25.4.3 using the following update:

http://up.autodesk.com/2018/MMNTO/ReMake_2017_Update_17.25.3.1_to_17.25.4.3.msp

Thanks,
Devang

I've tried installing ReMake on my new Windows 10 build which currently has 3DS Max and ReCap Pro & Photo installed. The ReMake installer tells me that "a newer version of this product is already installed".

Does ReCap have to be uninstalled in order to install ReMake?

Hello Mike,

One can either have ReMake or ReCap Photo installed on a machine at one time.

Regards,

Devang

I am having the same issue. I guess I will go back to ReMake in the meantime..

Is there any chance that ReCap will be available for students by the end of this year (when ReMake is retired)? or will students be forced to pay for a full subscription?

Hello,

We are contemplating introduction of a suitable solution for EDU users of ReCap Photo which will be made available soon (before ReMake retires).

Regards,

Devang

Where can I download ReMake now that it was uninstalled on my pc? I can't see anything but ReCap on the ReMake website. Is there still a link for downloading it?

Thanks.

Hello,

If you are an already registered ReMake subscriber or EDU user having an existing EDU serial number, then you can download it from your manage.autodesk.com account.

Else you will not be able to process images in ReMake anymore.

We are working on EDU support for ReCap Photo and that will be available soon.

Thanks,

Devang

Hello everybody,

but what about creating 3D models starting from photos? If Recap Photo wil expire in 30 days (trial version), how will be able to go on with our students?

All the best,

Cettina

I am having issues downloading ReMake from manage.autodesk.com. I have successfully downloaded the installer, but when running "Autodesk Install Now" it fails partway through saying "Something is preventing the software from launching. Please contact customer support." (See screenshot) Has ReMake already been dropped or am I doing something wrong?
