Hi,

Updated Recap to 4.2.0.2 now we cant import RCP file into AutoCAD 2014.

All scans are not found or invalid.
Attach point cloud failed

If we save in pro the can be imported. They import into AutoCAD2016 ok. We need 2014 because some funcions for ProSteel slicing point clouds does not work in 2016

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for participating in our Community! I am not clear here. When you say save in Pro means are you creating project in ReCap Pro and then importing to ACAD 2014? Did you try importing RCS files? I would suggest to try importing as RCS and see if that works.

Thank you and have a great day!

Recap Pro is correct. RCS files  react the same as RCP files.

What is the differenct between Recap 4.2.0.1 and Recap Pro 2018?

Hi @Anonymous,

I am not sure why you are not able to import RCS or RCP in ACAD 2014. You may want to raise this question in AutoCAD forum. ReCap doesn't control how ACAD opens point cloud data or we never change any process in how its creates ReCap Projects files (RCP and RCS).

Also. Latest version of ReCap is 4.2.2.15. ReCap version 4.2.0.2 is couple of version old. Please, applying following patches:

to update to latest version,

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you and have a great day!

I did the upgrades and still have the issue. I will let you know if there is any resolution. Possible recap pro might save the files differently.

There is no workaround.

Importing Recap files into Autocad (it's called a collaboration model) was introduced with Autocad 2016.

You need to get your other application working on Autocad 2016.
