ReCap 4.0 - Can't Index Scans after Automatic Registration

The automatic register seemed to work great.  But I can't proceed past the Automatic Register to Index my Scans.  No button to proceed.  No button to index scans. No way to add survey control.

I have advanced support ... which in reality ... was waiting on the phone for 1hr and no response or call back.  Try back on the weekend ... office is closed.

So I'm trying the forums to see if anyone can help.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Start a new project

import 2 of the the RCS files out of the support folder

see if you can get that Project working

if so, import all the other RCS files

then, finally, save as the whole project onto another drive.

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems indexing your project after registration. Could you provide a few more details such as how many scans are in the project in question, do they have any special characteristics (such as being partial scans, color / no color), and what format were the original scans? Would you be able to send me (either responding to this thread, or in a direct message) a screenshot or screen-recording of your experience? Have you tried to auto register a subset of the scans, run manual registration, or skip registration?

I apologize again for you inconvenience.

Marc

I tried your suggestion. It did not work.

In addition to Marc's response, If autoreg created a bunch of groups, they have to be manually registered to proceed with indexing. A screenshot of the registration view would help.

Here is a screen capture of this issue.

https://www.screencast.com/t/dGoQjtdlG

All scans are full scan with color. No buttons work.  Scans are from a Faro Focus x330.  There are about 10 scans.

I did, out of desperation, try different things, as the phone support has been awful.  I was on hold on Friday for over an hour and then just hung up.  I tried on the weekend but 'advanced support' does not mean weekends. I contacted 2x today, and ended up getting pushed off to an answering machine.  I left messages, still no response.  One of the worst parts about 'advanced support' and ReCap is that there is no option to pick ReCap which crosses all the other verticals.  - ok done with rant.

I had two separate areas (6 scans and 4 scans) where I did scanning and they do not need to be connected.  Initially, I tried to put them all together and was intending to use survey data points to separate the scans.  I think that was a bad idea.  When I did 'only the first 6' then all worked great and as expected. So for now, I'm expecting that the workflow is best if I keep different areas separate when I import the scans.

When I imported the next 4 I had real good overlap.  Automatic Registration worked great but I need to add my survey data and I don't see a way to go back into registration to add survey points.  Any tips about how to get back into registration after automatic registration is complete (so that I can add survey control) would be very much appreciated.

Here is a screen capture (movie) of the problem that still persists even if I only do 4 scans.  During this video I pick the register button at the top 2x but the screen goes blanks and I can not proceed past the automatic register.
The problem is still not solved. 😞

Hi

For some reason, the video does not seem to be attached to this post. Could you try attaching it again or direct message me or @MarcZinck the attachment.

Thanks,

Ashwini

Hi @Anonymous,

I was able to duplicate this behavior and have notify development team for further investigation. As workaround leave default setting for “filter scans” and “range clipping” and you should be able to extract targets. We will notify you via Forum post once this issue is resolve.
