Does Recap 360 read the EXIF data? The point cloud returned never seems to be georeferenced.
The mesh_ortho.tif does seem to be georeferenced, as it comes into AutoCAD Map just fine.
Thanks,
Mike

The precision of GPS embedded devices in cameras or smartphones is not enough for geopositionning. In the best scenario, GPS precision of this devices is about 3-5 meters. Neither the integrated GPS in a Faro Focus Scanner, only is suitable to do the registration process in Faro SCENE easier.
To georreference a pointcloud, I think that is needed to give coordiantes to at least a point and an orientation (or two points).
Usually the way to do this is setting targets on the field that can be registered by your scanner (or camera) and a total station or GPS that could obtain the "real and accurate" coordinates, and then assign this coordinates to the matching target in ReCap.
Leica C or P scanner series can be stationed on a known point with known coordinates, and then if this point have its coordinates georreferenced, then the point cloud would be georreferenced too.

How do you know the accuracy of the Geo Tagging? I have access to photos that came from an RTK eBee that have been geo tagged and their accuracy to CM.
For conceptual work why not let all geotags info be used and then if the user does enter in target info, than and only then ignore the geo tags.
