I have 2008 version and for my computer related problem I had to re-install 2008. I have all related information but I could not re-activet the software. I e-mailed authocodes@autodesk.com, written to Product Registration, at 111 Mcinnis Parkway, San Rafel, CA94903 and written to Andrew Anagnost. CEO, USA · Autodesk, Inc.. I yet to get a response. This is started on August 25th.

How this organization like AutoCAD be such uncivil?

Why I am not changing to recent version - that's a different story.and long story.

All they have to say here is away to activate or sorry, we could not. I can bet a few computer stroke will activate my program.

Unfortunately, I cannot say hell with you.

Can anybody shake this organization?

Same here, I'm still using 2008 and when this PC dies, I'll be using newer version.

It's no difference how it runs, just more options.

Just like your vehicles, after certain years, the car makers don't make old parts anymore (Can you sue them? NO)

Get a new car, it runs better.

Your AutoCAD2008 is no longer supported, which means Autodesk is not interested in ever helping you with any issue, it does not mean anything else you might read into "supported" http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X

Autodesk ended automatic reauthorizing of many older software recently, read all about it here
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/previous-version-support/reminder-no-change-to-previous-version-suppo...

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/previous-versions/...

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/previous-versions/...

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/previous-versions

But... you might be able open a ticket with the Licensing support and confirm your options for sure here (or not) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/contact-support/installation-activation

Start developing an alternate plan right now.

>>"I can bet a few computer stroke will activate my program."

Thats right, but the question is: Is it legal in your case!

The only right adress for you is the organisation you tried to contact (AutoDESK, not AutoCAD)

I understand that but there is a business civility. I line of answer "Sorry nothing can be done" would have suffice.

That is what I got from support.

Even the CEO of Autiodesk does not know the meaning of being Professional. That is unfortunate.

On the other hand - there should be a mechanism to reactivate old software. I do not believe they have completely erased the information of all old versions from their computer. They may charge a fee for doing that.

@apanbasu hurt feelings are common, sorry you are going through it.

We are all end users just like you, except many of us are a little more fortunate. Luckily there are so many other options out there, now is a good time for you to explore them while you reach out to an Autodesk reseller to inquire about "...there should be a mechanism..." to buy into their subscription model at a discount if one exists https://www.autodesk.com/partners/locate-a-reseller

good luck.
