Dark theme

I suggest implement Dark theme to PowerShape as in AutoCAD. Powershape interface is too light now and after hours of working, eye strain is huge. Thank you

Are you talking about the icons, or the screen background?

This is high on my wish list. Any possibility this could happen at some point?

Or is there any way to go into program files and make changes to get the dark effect?

I believe PowerMill already has it.

No option as of yet for dark mode or theme in PowerShape....or PowerMill.

The only option would be to change the background colour to black, but the surrounding ribbon would not be affected.

OK Thanks

Is there a way to change the ribbon colors by editing setup files?

Hi @wmtool

As far as I know.....no.  I do not know of any system files that can be altered to change this.

Hello

I just got help from support with this.

If you run a macro with the line                       ribbon_debug theme 17

it will put the ribbons into dark mode.

Also substitute the 17 for numbers 1 to 30 and there are a lot of other nice ribbon color options.

Thanks to support for help.

Hi @wmtool

Fantastic.  Do you know if this works in PowerMill as well?

Hi @wmtool

I got it to work in PowerShape, but not PowerMill.  Different command perhaps?

Also, why is this not widely known?  Thank you for changing my life 🤣

My support contact told me it worked in PowerMILL although I have tried it.

Guess your right it must be a different command. I also don't know why this
isn't more widely

know it's very useful. I had carefully searched the help menu and didn't
find anything on the subject.

Guess you learn something new every day.

Hi @wmtool

Well, I'd imagine it is possible in PowerMill as well if this an option in PowerShape/PowerMill Modelling.

Much appreciated.  I'll look into the PowerMill option.  I'll update this if I get anywhere with it.

you can change the powermill theme.
there are 3 available.
I am attaching a small macro for choosing options

Function Main() {

STRING ARRAY $Group[] = {"Default","White","Colorful","Dark Gray"}
INT C = INPUT CHOICE $Group "Pick an option"
IF $C == 0 {
FORM RIBBON STYLE DEFAULT
}
IF $C == 1 {
FORM RIBBON STYLE OFFICE_2016_WHITE
}
IF $C == 2 {
FORM RIBBON STYLE OFFICE_2016_COLORFUL
}
IF $C == 3 {
FORM RIBBON STYLE OFFICE_2016_DARK_GRAY
}
}

Greetings

Hi @newchris23

Yes, found out shortly after that last post that it was possible to set up different themes in PowerMill.  I also created a similar macro.  I definitely do not like the dark theme in PowerMill as it makes things difficult to see.  I prefer the "colourful" option actually.

Thanks for adding this for everyone else though!  Much appreciated.
