stock model issue

Is PM ever going to fix this stock model issue? There is not a single project I do that the stockmodel does not get corrupt and completely useless. I am tired of constantly exporting and importing the stockmodel I save. Some of my projects have 3 or 4 corrupt stockmodels by the time I am finished.

2018, All up to date with the latest updates. It has been going on for a few versions. I sent in a project a long time ago, it went nowhere.

Try this command and see if it helps, it reverts the stock model calculation to version 2016

I have it in a stock model macro every time I create a new one.

I think you would need it everytime you create a new stock model

@iamcdn79: does that command work in 2017? will it cut down on calculation time, and rest toolpath calc time? I'm running 2017 sp6 and calc times are ridiculous...

@TK.421 yes it will work in 2017 and 2018. I think it is a faster calculation. The reason I needed it was because alot of time it would not show me any rest material after calculation

I've never seen so many duplicated reference toolpaths to the same stock model..In fact, I didn't think it was possible.

Is this the result of the corruption, or just part of your workflow?

It is the part of the corruption. I will have something go wrong and PM will crash. Then upon opening I get these duplicates, in some instances when you expand the stockmodel window, there will be hundreds of items in there.

Hello,

We have had this issue for a while and we are still unsure where it comes from as we are struggling to repeat this issue ourselves, no necessarily the issue that you have but the workflow to get tho this, Could you perhaps let me know more information on this and tell me how you first got to this or is this a recurring issue that happened months ago?

For me, this has been happening for quite some time, at least the last two versions of PM.. It "usually"  happens after a crash and I try to restore all of my project.  However, I did have it happen during a certain sequence of events. I had a bunch of toolpaths applied to my stockmodel and was showing the rest material of a toolpath far up in the stock model tree, then, when that was shown and activated in the explore window, I tried to apply another toolpath, when I did that and calculated it, I got the entire mess in the stock model tree. That is the only one time I actually saw it happen, I never tried to repeat it because once the stock model is messed up, there is nothing you can do with it.
