Polling Powermill Users: In your opinion...is this enough to consider Powermill 2025 a new release of Powermill?

For daily Powermill users...are you getting value from your yearly subscription?

Are the updates shown below enough to warrant the subscription?

My opinion is: Not at all.

There are so many updates that could be made whether it is the GUI, additional options, computing/graphical speed...many suggested by us Powermill users...that are simply ignored year after year after year.

Anyway...I look forward to all of your opinions.

A Wish list system would be nice, user could vote on whether they need it to help prioritise the upgrades.

I always like more stability.

I would love to compress, reduce z moves but maintain accuracy in programme or post by giving priority to x and y axis moves while effectively locking the Z axis to a constant depth. (I have seen solutions that just reduce accuracy)

I really don't need z moves of 0.001, keep the Z at 0.0 just move the x or y to compensate.

New machines not an issue (unless wrong parameters(z reversal spikes)), older machines may benefit, technically some broke machines can still carry on.

I have two machines running a post with 2 decimal places rather than 3 it does help them. They just don't like Z moves and lots of little ones in power mill programmes reduce finish quality.

The Z axis has the most to deal with and just giving it an easier time might help.

I have the same opinion. PowerMill is dead, apparently only investments are made in Fusion.
PM users are only allowed to pay the extremely increased fees.
You can't see anything particularly new in the last few releases.
Previously there were YouTube videos with new versions but not anymore like this release.
Webinars also discontinued. Support at Autodesk only comes from resellers who have to be payed extra.

Powershape is even more pathetic for the 2025 version.

I have to agree.

There is no progress in ideas. Still a bad tool management and still no option conical barrel cutting.

I have been working with Fusion 360 as well, looks more modern and has a nice tool library, but lacks a lot in manipulation of the toolpaths after being calculated and also comes up with some very doubtful results sometimes. Fusion is still far behind  before it's close to Powermill.

Well, I see the subscription fee for PowerMill as a cross-financing for Fusion360. In Fusion360 are a lot of things got covered but the expert functionalites, no mather if its CAD/Inventor or CAM/PowerMill are not there where we are with the "single" software elements.

At the end of the day - we pay the rates for getting what we know for quit some time. I personally only expect they keep PowerMill alive and available. Hopefully compatible to the latest Windows releases.
That is all i expect - everyhing else in hope PowerMill development or Robotic Plugin development I´m just hoping for it keeps working for some years before i (have to?) switch to Fusion360 or create a new parallel world with a different software.

The reason for all this is viewable on the investor relations reports. There you see which product categories are having the bigger earnings. CAM PowerMIll or especially it´s robotic functionalities are just not bigh enough.
