Machine tool simulation is different of NC program ! Danger!

The principal axis of the five axis machine tool is asymmetrical. When working with the 3+2 axis, a serious problem is encountered. Sometimes the NC programming angle that has been exported is different from the software simulation. The toolpath uses " Fixed direction" on the machining axis control option. Like this, how can I ensure the safety of processing? (The software version is 2016SP13,But using other people's 2017SP6 version test, it doesn't seem to be a problem.) It's very urgent and dangerous. Please help me. Thank you very much!

This is a problem that I experience as well. The work around that I use is putting an offset in the orientation vector form; this should give you a matching output in your code - it has not failed me yet. I know it is not ideal, but it is what it is.

 

I use a lot of toolpath templates, so for me to update my templates with this number added was no big deal, but i can see how it might be a pain for others.

 

I have a support ticket open on this and all i'm told is "we're looking into it"

Hi, Do you mean the mode of coordinate conversion of the controller?You can look at the picture.Thanks.

After several days of testing found that there will be a phenomenon, If i use the ”Dynamic machine control“ function,the NC program's angle will  output according to the setting ,although the machine simulation still not necessarily correct. But the angle is converted from"Rapid height" to "Plunge height" what makes me puzzled.

I really wish PM would rethink how an operator controls the table movements, using the Fidia with the offset head was a nightmare to control which "solution" the post would send out. Now on the Hermle it is much easier, however not ideal. I also use orientation vectors but that is not always the best solution either. For example when you rotate a toolpath or use a mirror, your table will flip violently around, its' doing exactly what you told it to do, but it's hard to remember to turn them off before you calculate a toolpath you want to rotate.  And while I am still here, IF the staffers are reading this, can someone PLEASE make the tool axis direction arrow longer. Every single time to see it you must undraw the model because it's buried under there. This has been going on since day one and it's annoying as hell to always undraw and draw to see it. Certainly I cannot be the only human being that uses fixed direction tool alignment from vectors.

This is a bit random and not what this thread is currently discussing but you can generally zoom out slightly and refresh to view the sometimes hidden tool axis. 

 

I would recommend that you submit a case through your Autodesk Account for this change request.
