How to adjust post processor for getting G codes ijk (spiral) in constant Z

Greeting,

Dear Madam/ Sir

Around more than 5 years, I am grappling with receiving ijk G codes associated with spiral in constant Z strategy.

For this purpose, I have done some researches as well as surfed the net to find how can I getting ijk G codes when I use the constant Z strategy in POWER MILL software.

So I was extremely wondering if you would mind guiding me if how can I receive G2 G3 codes when I use the constant Z in Spiral mode.

Best regards,

Mohammad Asalpisheh

I have been down this road in the past, it's my understanding that you cannot get arc output unless the movements are in a principal plane. In other words, no spiral movements or 5x moves.

Very good video.

Additionally, to reduce the number of toolpath segments, set up the point distribution:

As M.Hennig noted earlier, you cannot get arc output unless the movements are in a principal plane.
Exception, if your CNC-controller support arbitary plane arcs (like Sinumeric 840D), this option is configured in PostProcessor.
So, the only way out is to configure the point distribution for smooth machine movements.
