Maybe it's me or some settings, but the changes to the forum in the last week or so have made it unuseable.

I can't tell the difference between read and unread.

Readability is worse.

Please revert to the previous format.

EDIT:  Looks like it might be a browser issue. Works OK using Edge, but not Chrome.

@RAL6000 try this forum.

Together we can make forums great again.  No tone-policing on that forum either…

The new version is unusable; I am not a frequent user of the forum but before it was simple and fast, now I do not understand anything. It seems to me that I am dealing with the Italian state: when in Italy something works well it must necessarily have changed for the worse.

I have no more use for this forum. I’ve had another forum made at a link in one of my previous posts on this thread, but have been too busy to get traffic on it. You all should move over there!

I will be taking a new job soon that does not use PowerMill, so I’m afraid my time on these forums has come to an end. I may still frequent them from time to time just to keep my skills up, but not very often.

I would like to thank @iamcdn79 @ @kukelyk @rafael.sansao @5axesand @Sean571   for everything you have taught me and helped me with over the years. There are others I’m sure but names escape me right now.  I will miss all you guys.

Suddenly, as of January 16, 2025, I logged into the Powermill Forum on Autodesk...and this is the stuff I see:

glen_h_0-1737033241851.png

Please go back to how it used to be! Where the heck are the stickies?

Autodesk: You have a nasty habit of upsetting your customers ...whether it's fiddling with things that don't need to be fiddled with, or the sheer lack of innovation when it comes to Powermill (ie...making the Yearly Subscriptions ACTUALLY WORTH THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!) We're still using Powermill 2021...because any version beyond that is slower for our use case. (Autodesk: Please don't respond with gaslighting about all the tests you've run indicating increases in calculation speed...you are clearly running tests on a basic cube!)

Big thanks to all who contribute!

Hey! What am I, chopped liver?

To be fair and honest, I've not been spending too much time on the forum lately. I've been too busy working on posts and our DSI social media platform.

Good luck in the new position!

Cheers

@amanda.k  I came back to the forum to look something up. I truly hope you guys have not finished the forum update.... I go to search for something in the powermill forum and it spits out hits FROM EVERY SINGLE AUTODESK FORUM. How annoying is that, right? You have to go through and pick the forum from which you want results. That's a looooooooooooooong list, and of course, powermill is near the bottom....  Surely someone forgot the line of code where it restricts results to the forum the user is in?

Are there plans to address this??? Why not make the default behavior to return results from the current forum only and then, if the user decides, to broaden it to all ad forums?  Please advise. I'd be curious to know why this was released the way that it is.  Maybe I'm being retarded and missed the tick button for default settings?

See this thread for a list of all the issues and problems with this new forum page that we never had with the old one.

Don't hold your breath waiting on it getting fixed anytime soon.

I have the same problem as you. Now, searching for information is terrible for me with the new forum update.

I'm actually still using PowerMill.... I had a couple interviews at a shop and I thought we were all on the same page until their offer came through... bogus.  I moved to a plastic injection mold builder.  I'd interviewed here for a design position but had no experience using NX so they offered me a programming position instead. Well compensated and awesome group of guys that i work with. Better yet, i'm learning an entire new field of manufacturing & becoming more proficient with powershape.

I probably wont have as much time to peruse the forum, but i'll still check in.  my ugly mug will be around for a while, i'm thinking this will be my retirement job!

Hi there forum.... all feedback ideas and suggestions for the redesign ARE being logged and fed to the Product Team designing the new look for the forums.  If you look at the Feedback Thread (also mentioned above someplace) you can see what has been brought up before, and also get the link to a "self serve" feedback form that you may use yourselves to log things.

The team doing the redesign are also holding Office Hours monthly to give updates and try to answer questions.  You can find a full schedule, with links to register in this thread.  Blog posts from them with regular updates can be found HERE.

I hope this info dump helps a little with at least finding the information on what's happening.  Thanks all.

Did you find a post helpful? Then feel free to give likes to these posts!
Did your question get successfully answered? Then just click on the 'Accept solution' button.  Thanks and Enjoy!
