Can't export Netfabb file to .cli

Hey, I just nested some parts on Netfabb 2025 and I am trying to export them to a .cli file but I cannot find the prompt/button anywhere. Does it have something to do with licensing?

What version of Netfabb are you using?

  • Netfabb Basic (free to use without a license)
  • Netfabb Standard (commercial software = requires a license)
  • Netfabb Premium (commercial software = requires a license)
  • Netfabb Ultimate (commercial software = requires a license)

here is our Online help page that compares our features per Netfabb version:

Hey I am using Netfabb Premium 2025, I found out it has something to do with adding the correct machine which I am figuring out with the manufacturer. I switched to 2024 and was able to add the correct machine and export as a .cli so it should be good for now. Thank you!

Hello, @tyler_Bortolazzo,

While rolling back to an earlier version may help temporarily with an issue it is usually not what we'd recommend to do. Previous versions are supported and available for download only for so long.

If you could let us know what machine this is about we could have a look why the CLI export is no longer available. It could be a bug that needs fixing, or it could have been an intentional change and that there is now a different preferred way to export.

Best regards,

Steffen

After viewing Netfabb 2025 and 2024, I am trying to add the Exone S-Max Max platform. When I open that in 2025 it states invalid process parameters.

The machine I am using is the Exone S-Max. I think the main issue is when trying to add the build platform into Netfabb only 4 build platforms are available, however on the 2024 version I believe there are 9 options available.

Ah, I see, thank you for that.

The ExOne engine files and machine workspace for Netfabb are developed directly by ExOne, not Autodesk, and given out separately from the Netfabb installation.

The message "Invalid process parameters." would suggest the engine files either do not match the newer Netfabb or do match but the My machines record you're trying to use is old enough to still reference an engine description given by older files.

Try:

  • Create a new, fresh My machines record using Netfabb 2025 and only use that record with NF 2025. (You could still use the old MM record with NF 2024).
  • If that still doesn't work, contact ExOne, the actual authors of those files, and request newer ones that match NF 2025.

Best regards,

Steffen
