Having problems just getting setup with Visual Studio 2022

I'm trying to start learning how to write plugins for AutoCAD 2025. I've been writing LISPS for several years now. However, I'm having a problem just getting visual studio setup.

I have VS2022 17.13.2 up and running. I start a new project using Class Library (.Net Framework) for C#.  But right off the bat I have an issue, there is no NET 8 option.

I know I have Net 8 installed

I've tried various "fixes" like enabling net previews, I tried tweaking the json files with net 8. nothing works.

I tried using 4.8 and ran into compatibility issues. What am I missing here?

hi

.Net Framework 4.7.2 the way to go to make a plugin works for C3D 2020 to 2025

@Julio_Soto  Select the Class Library type for 2025+. The .NET Framework type is for 2024 and lower.

@Jeff_M

When creating a new project I filter for "Class Library" I don't see anything referring to 2025.

@essam-salah

Since 2025 is transitioning to Net 8 and I'm just starting, I might as well go with the latest.

@Julio_Soto no, I meant you must use the Class Library option for AutoCAD 2025 and above...the first one in the list in your image.
