Navisworks 2024 takes forever to open

Navisworks 2024 takes forever to open

For some reason when I open Navisworks (double click on the desktop shortcut), it takes at least 5 minutes to open. If i open navisworks 2022 or 2023, it opens fast.

Does someone know the reason behind this?

Hello,

 

Thanks for posting to the forums.

 

We're not aware of an issue in any version that means the product is slow to launch. Have you tried

 

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the product?
  • Checking you are using the latest version Navisworks 2024.1
  • You machine is up to recommended specifications.
  • Graphics drivers are up to date.

Hi Brett!

I uninstalled and reinstalled the product and the problem is still there. I am using Navisworks 2024.1 and my graphic drivers are up to date. These are my specifications:

Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900H 2.60 GHz

RAM: 64GB

Windows: Windows 10 Enterprise

GPU:  NVIDIA RTX 5000

Specs are more than reasonable so mustn't be related to that.

 

Can you raise a support ticket for further investigation. Sorry you are experiencing these problems. We will support and try and get to the bottom of it...

Hi all, I'm experiencing the same issue here. 

Navisworks 2022 takes 9 seconds to open. 

Navisworks 2024 takes 2 minutes and 55 seconds to open. 

Hardware:
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11850H @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz
32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)

@beklBFEGS This worked for me: 
The parent folder C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Navisworks 2024 and then clear the contents of each folder:

---C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Navisworks 2024\LocalCache
---C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Navisworks 2024\Thumbnails
---C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Navisworks 2024\WebViewCache

Wow, it really works. NW 2024 opens pretty much as fast as 2022 after cleaning these folders. Thank you!

 

I'll write a batch file to automatically do these cleanings every morning.

We've had this same issue here as well. Autodesk support could not fix it. We ended up reinstalling Windows and then reinstall the software on the computer and that fixed it.
