Error when trying to open revit 2022 file in Simulate 2023 - Can't load <filename>.rvt because of an internal error

I can open most of revit files in Simulate 2023. But for some files, I get following error:

Knowledge base article hints that it can be file specific issue, but it doesn't provide any troubleshooting steps. Other suggestion is to reinstall Simulate, which didn't help.

Generated log file has following contents:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Don't open the RVT file directly. Use the adding to create an NWC file. Exporting from Revit to Navisworks | Navisworks Products 2021 | Autodesk Knowledge Network
