BUG when setting model opacity

When model set to 50% opacity and items of interest set to 100% opacity. Navis draws a large white opaque box around the volume box control. Making screenshots impossible. See attached screenshot.

Can you detail the steps so I can try to reproduce with any of my models?

Not sure I can provide any further information.
Select the entire tree and set the opacity to 50% or below.
Select a group of components in the tree and set opacity to 100% and override the colour.
This causes the white box.
Strangely this only happens when looking down on the model from above, when looking from below the box is not present, however this may be because I set the background to white.....

Tried with this model:

Trogen Children's Step Stool by IKEA 3D model

 

I selected 50% transparency for the whole .3DS file, then 0% for the second step, make a section box.

I don't get to see that problem, even worse because probably the model is not a real solid object:
