Hi everyone

Mudbox2018

With the same polygon model, just after changing some of the wrinkles around the eye, the output will get a different displacement map, and the result is wrong, why?

The output mode is “raycasting“ and “closest to lowres mesh“

But import the zrush, select the same "" adaptive mode "" is correct

sorry for my en

Hi,

Did you extract both of those displacement maps in Mudbox right? And the difference was that you changed the mesh around the eye, do I understand correctly?

Hi

They are all from the same file,

Before I did not modify this head model, I had output the displacement map of the model was correct

But I think the eye wrinkles need to be modified again

But after the modification, I output the displacement map of the model again to produce the wrong result

Because after the rendering test, found that the results of the two maps are completely different

The second output of the map is a very noticeable error

The details see my upload jpg

In addition, Mudbox output displacement map will be interference and broken,
ZBrush output displacement map is very clean
Who can tell me how to solve it?

Could you please send this mesh (or any other mesh where you can repro the issue) to me? If you save the scene into a mud file, it would be great if it was containing the extraction node with the settings you used.

Hi

I can only give you the original low face number model

The high face number model is too large

Unable to upload

see attached

Thank you for your reply :)

Thanks. Could you please give me a list of actions how you can recreate this issue from this file? Something like:

1. load the obj file

2. subdivide a few times

3. sculpt some details.

4. import the obj file again

5. extract a displacement map, using the detailed mesh as source, and the original mesh as target?

Hi

You`re welcome

Mudbox output displacement map, the default offset value is 0
This is the same as ZBrush's setting
But Mudbox in the model carved changes, it will affect the overall displacement map of the depth shift changes, it is very strange, I think the overall depth should be fixed, only the carved part will change

Also, Mudbox output displacement map, there will be interference and broken, what is the reason
As long as the displacement map as a bump map into the display will be very obvious

Thx for your reply

In addition

This model is an example of CG teaching
