Mudbox 2017 Linux install and licensing issues

Hi,

We just purchased a Mudbox subscription.

It has no serial number in our account (only for previous versions) and running the installer demands a serial number. In the account it says "Just sign in", but that opportunity is never presented during install.

Any one else has this problem?

Hi @Anonymous Welcome to Autodesk Community!

A support case was opened for @hm4. Are you also on Linux OS? I just checked the case and unfortunately the new cloud license (sign in only) is not supported on Linux OS. If that's the case, we can refund your purchase and you might need to purchase a license (with serial number) from an Autodesk reseller.

I have exactly the same problem. It is now 01/2018 and they are still selling licenses for Mudbox 2018 linux subscription, and I cannot log in and use. I have looked for a group ID, have not found it anywhere. Has there been any kind of fix or has anyone addressed the problem?

This is seriously unprofessional.

I'm sorry to hear you are running into this. I wasn't here when the previous messages in this thread were logged, or I would have responded before. We are looking into this now - you certainly should be able to use subscription with Mudbox on Linux, and this is the first time I personally have become aware of any problem (though I can see from the thread that other people have run into it). Can you please give me the details of your operating system?

Hi there,

We've looked into this, and unfortunately it is not possible to purchase Mudbox for Linux from the E-Store due to Linux not being supported by the sign-in software. Obviously this is our mistake for making it available, and I do apologize. It should be removed shortly.

In order to purchase Mudbox for Linux, you will need to first request a refund by contacting the Autodesk team, Monday–Friday, 6 a.m.–6 p.m., Pacific time. You will then need to purchase Mudbox through a reseller; you can find a local reseller here.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
