I have 4 models created in Maya. I created a single UV map in Maya with these 4 models to behave like a texture Atlas.
I exported these 4 models to a Mudbox scene for high-poly and maps. I would like to keep the single file format - atlas UV map - I originally setup in Maya. However I could only see that Mudbox lets me export a single texture file for each channel (specular, opacity, etc) and for each model. It'd be quite painful masking each UV and texture of the 4 models in photoshop to keep the Atlas format.
Can Mudbox merge texture channels across different models in the same scene?
I also tried this in Maya but the UV Editor - Image - UV snapshot only shows information of one texture (as selected in UV Editor - Textures) if I take a UV snapshot. Is there a way to take a snapshot of the UVs with all textures as shown in the model in the maya scene?
Other suggestions to extract the textures much appreciated.

mudbox does not merge textures for different objects...
but they should have an alhpa... you could just stack them in photoshop...
use the export channelto PSD option...
