Thanks for reporting this. We are looking into this. This is one of the newer systems that isn't supported (yet).

I'm also experiencing this with a new threadripper.

Could you try turning off hyperthreading? These particular systems are not working well with hyperthreading.

Did you want me to turn off hyperthreading as a test?  Is there a way to turn it off for individual programs?  I did try to set the affinity to 1 as it was loading but it still hung on that screen.

Just wanted to chime in and let you know disabling hyperthreading (or multi-threading on an AMD system) DID fix this problem for me!  I'm also running threadripper 2990wx on an ASUS Prime X399-A.  Setting SMT mode to "disabled" in the bios was the fix.

Cheers!

So how did this affect the performance on other applications?  I'm pretty sure I don't want to turn off hyperthreading for rendering.

Autodesk is there any work being done on this issue?

Yes, it will affect performance in other applications.

With that in mind, I've found myself disabling multi-threading to work in Motionbuilder and when I'm done I switch it back on.  Yes, it's a pain going back and forth like this but it is the only solution for me at the moment.

Hoping the next release doesn't have this problem...

I had this issue, the recent update eliminated it and I no longer have to
turn off multithreading.
