Bending fingers backwards in MoBu

I have been wondering for a while now if it is at all possible to and still bend the 2nd bone in both directions when using the Control Rig.

I understand that having a select direction is important for the IK chain... however,  bending fingers in the opposite direction, if only so slightly, is also useful for artistic purposes. Or, really, when you have a poorly rigged model where some fingers never look straight unless you overbend them. IK on fingers is a nice feature but, honestly, I have not used it that much outside certain contact animations where it was indispensable. 

 

Is there a way to do it? Maybe with the fingertip IK off but still?

Oh. Apparently, that's what Fingers Solving in the character's Solving settings does. As long as that checkbox is off, finger controls bend freely (but you cannot control fingers bu grabbing a finger tip).
