Valve gate controller assignment - issue in Moldflow 2025

Has anyone else come across an issue in 2025 when assigning valve gate controllers?

Whatever valve gate controller is first in the list of controllers cannot be assigned to to a gate element.

For example the first controller in the list is #1 default valve gate controller. This cannot be assigned to a gate element.

If you create another controller(#2/#3/#4 etc.) you can assign to an element no problem. 

I deleted the default #1 controller. Now #2 cannot be assigned. Seems like whatever controller is first in the list cannot be assigned to a gate??

Hi Adam,

I experience the same issue using tab Boundary Conditions > Valve Gate Controller > Assign to elements
after creating controllers. The top of list cannot be assigned to element.

The workaround I use is to select gate beam, right-click and Properties, tab Valve Gate Control
Then you could select from list, and top of list.

Believe this is a defect that needs to be fixed.

yes there is an open issue for this for development to fix.
