PVT Graph comparison

Hi,

I would like to understand the PVT graph comparison for two materials (Refer Image) at constant Pressure  (50MPa).

 

Please help me understand the attached graph, what we can conclude from this comparison?

Please have a look at the attachment. I would like to know what we can conclude from this graph. It's a comparison between the two materials at constant pressure.

Hello @mahesh_a_patil ,

 

from this graph you can read that the pvT behaviour of these two materials is similar, as they have parallel curves in the diagram. These two freeze at the same temperature.

But there is a huge difference in the specific volume. The filled material with the lower curve has a higher density and will have a higher percentual volumetric shrinkage when the nominal value of shrinkage is the same, due to its smaller relative difference.

In other words: If both materials shrink by an amount of dv, the relative value depends on their specific volume when they freeze. So for the higher curve the comparison is dv / v_high and for the lower curve the quotient is dv / v_low.
