Customer requirements: The moldflow process and the actual injection molding machine process settings are different, for example, the actual valve gate is opened through ram position control, and the packing phase through time control. It is not possible to set the moldflow in this way. The moldflow can only control the ram position or time separately, which requires an additional round of analysis, which is not conducive to actual comparative analysis of the moldflow. The customer suggests that Autodesk can make some improvements in the setting method, and the control of the valve needle supports multi-stage control of ram position and time. Please make a functional enhancement to control with Time and Ram position in Valve gate controller. Since the 2024 release, it is possible to obtain a histogram of the results. However, it is not possible to obtain a histogram following a thickness analysis via a macro. I think that adding the ability to obtain a histogram of the part’s thickness after meshing would be a useful addition. Show More

Tiger strips/a surface defect, which often occurs in the injection molding, is characterized by a cyclic sequence of shiny and matt stripes at the flow front.    The physical cause of the occurrence of tiger stripes, is the re-melting of already frozen outer layers the thermally damaged material reaches the surface and leads to spots with a matter shininess in appearance.    It is possible with calculated plots with some relations, which is being used by some raw material suppliers.   Mold flow should introduce Tiger strips occurrence plot. Midplane mesh visualization, With beam elements, we can visualize as axis line  as well solid.   Similar to this, for Midplane mesh triangular-elements, we should be able to visualize as solid cad model after applying thickness and visualize s as a solid option (similar option is available in hyper mesh).   It helps to cross check assignment of thickness with cad model, especially in Midplane mesh environment.
