Typically a language problem. The incompatible (non-English) characters are used in the directory name for the folder those images are stored in.

It's not only the directory's name the preview image is stored within. The whole path to that directory must not contain such a non Latin character. In most cases such a char not used in English language happens in the user's account name.

The preview images of MESHMIX Primitives parts are stored in: C:\Users\User_Name\Documents\meshmixer\libraries\parts\default\Primitives

If User_Name in the path uses a non Latin char like

C:\Users\Günter\Documents\meshmixer\libraries\parts\default\Primitives

"ü" is such a character  and MM will not find preview images. So it replaces the missing image with a default image (= red square)

If one translates an "ü" to English characters (which is "ue") - and one changes the accounts's name this way -  the path

C:\Users\Guenter\Documents\meshmixer\libraries\parts\default\Primitives

will do the job.

Option 1: Change your user account name. E.g here is a tutorial to do that on WIN10.

Option 2: Move the whole meshmixer directory from documents to a different location where's no such char in the path (e.g. to C:\meshmixer) while MM isn't running. On its next start MM will give a message that it isn't able to find this folder. Use the Redirect button to browse to the new location and select the meshmixer folder there.
