Hi,

It's possible to enable the V-ray Material Override on a specific render layer?

I haven't found how to do that..

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

Unfortunately I don't have access to V-Ray so it's difficult for me to test however I think I know a potential solution.

You should be able to override the specific layer by right clicking on it:

  1. Right Click the Layer
  2. Highlight Overrides
  3. Select Create New Material Override
  4. Select Vray Material

Hopefully this helps solve your issue but if it doesn't please feel free to let me know and I'd be happy to help further!

Hi @sean.heasley,

I found a solution for the material override, in fact I need only one material override so I switch to Maya 2016.5 because the Render Setup Layers is more clear. But I've got a second problem with an onverride :

I work with golaem and when I drag the primary visibility of the renderProxyShape (of golaem) as an override, I can't activate the render layer, the script editor returns :

Golaem support said it's not a problem who comes from golaem but Maya.

Thanks for your reply!
