How do I color correct rendered Zdepth frames? Or else render a useable sequence of Zdepth frames

Hi,
I am working on a game that uses sprites and accompanying Zdepth sprites in order to determine the layer sorting and lighting conditions of ingame objects. Using the Z AOV for Arnold, I can produce a sequence of Zdepth frames, however they all are rendered as solid white. I can adjust the exposure and gamma of the render in Arnold's RenderView to alter the image to make it useable, which works for manually saving single frames, however I cannot get Zdepth frames that have been rendered in a sequence to have this exposure/gamma correction applied to the resulting .exr and .tif files (some of these animations are hundreds or even thousands of frames long, so being forced to manually save Zdepth frames is completely out of the question). Also despite giving you the option, trying to apply post processing color-correction to the Z renders literally does nothing.
I have searched everywhere online, and cannot find an answer. The only video tutorials online for this are for rendering single frames. I have a very hard time believing that I am the only person who needs a sequence of Zdepth frames for an animation. Please help.
